Caldwell: All-Stud

Plot / Content:                              Rating: E

"An incredible, erotic trip into the gay future via the imagination of an erotic pioneer. Under the watchful eye of Number Ten - an omniscient figure who rules over an all-male land - promiscuity is the rule and unbridled fleshly indulgence is facilitated by the state. But as one man is about to discover, uninhibited pleasure might mask something far darker . . . ."

Background / Biography:

It is uncertain whether Clay Caldwell is the author's real name. It is possible that Caldwell is Steven Saylor, who, according to Wikipedia also writes as Aaron Travis, (who provides the introduction to this edition), but that entry mistakenly gives the first publication of All-Stud as 1979.

"Taking the steps two at a time, Dave raced from the subway onto Market Street. In the distance, at the end of the wide cruiseway, the historic Phallic Building stood tall and lavender-painted, a huge roman numeral ten where the outlawed clock had once been. 'Number Ten lives for us,' Dave murmured automatically and slowed to a walk as he reached the sidewalk. The sky shone flaming gold, competing with the brash glare of steel-and-glass buildings, each marked with the stark black X of Number Ten. A lean, heavy-eyed youth leaned back against the show window of a relations-aid supply store, one knee cocked, bulging crotch offered. He studied Dave openly."
