Plot / Content:                              Rating: G

"Frail old Stewart Moody is slowly dying, cared for Barryl Cutler, a handsome hustler who knows a good thing when he sees it. He cooks for the old man, bathes and dresses him, runs his thriving secretarial service. Sometimes he feels trapped, but Moody will dies some day and Cutler will inherit his business, property, life savings. It's worth the wait.

"Or so Culter thinks. Then he meets Chick Pelletier, a young, sunny-haired out of work actor and beach bum. And the next morning Stewart Moody lies dead on the floor of his bedroom, tangled in the plastic tube from his oxygen tank that kept him feebly alive. An accident, the doctor calls it.

"The newly-rich Cutler buys Pelletier a handsome beach house, a Porsche, a fort-five-foot sailboat, anything he asks. It is not enough. He wants to be a movie star. He wants the beautiful young wife of a wealthy neighbor. And Cutler must get him these things - if he has to kill for them. "

"Cutler carries supper on a tray along the hall to Moody. A thin tube of opaque yellow plastic leads from an oxygen tank beside the bed to Moody's head. Elastic around Moody's head keeps the tube in place, so that the short ducts at the end of the tube pole up the nostrils of Moody's thin, aristocratic nose. He wears the tube much of the time - he has emphysema. Sixty-five, thin, gray, he sits propped by pillows, gazing at a television newscast. He looks neat, in a green turtleneck jersey, tan widewale corduroys, green wool socks. He thinks, sick as he is, that he is going for an outing, tonight. But then, he always prefers being dressed during business hours. Every morning, as Cutler helps him totter into the shower, he says, 'I may be needed.'"
